Mason "May-May" Bayne Taylor
Mason, more commonly known by his nickname May-May, was born at 2:20 am on July 15,2004 to the loving parents of Trina and Mike. Mason was the baby of the family and was the little brother to Chelsea, Michael, and Caroline. You knew he was the baby of the family since he always got his way and got away with everything. Mason was very energetic and always took advantage of every second of every day. It did not matter to Mason whether it was 6 in the morning or 8 at night, he was always active. He often bothered his older sister, Caroline, to burn some of his energy and to play outside. Mason loved playing baseball, football, getting dirty, hunting and fishing. Honestly there really wasn't anything he didn't love in this world. He was a down to the bone country boy and the essence of what a boy is.
Mason was a part of the Brink Hunt Club where he hunted with his Dad, brother, and all of his friends. It could be 90 degree weather out and you could find Mason in his t-shirt, shorts, and muck boots. You knew that his feet probably were swimming in a pool of sweat, but that didn't matter to him. As a member of the hunt club, Mason made sure to do his part and even help round up the dogs at the end of the night. It was probably the fact that he got to stay up late with the older crowd, but nonetheless he did his part. In addition to deer hunting, Mason also enjoyed coon hunting with his older brother Michael. As one of his birthday presents, Mason even asked for a coonhound for his birthday and named him Bandit (You can see a picture with him under the Home page).
Mason loved Bandit and all animals alike. Shortly after getting Bandit, he went missing and Mason did everything in his power to find him. After posting flyers and getting his Mom to post all over Facebook, Bandit and Mason were reunited. We own a lot of pet dogs and Mason made sure that each one had a collar on them to ensure that if found, they would always be returned home safely.
When Mason wasn't hunting he was playing baseball in the spring/summer. This year Mason played for the Athletics and even made all-stars. As #33, Mason did not care where he was playing whether it was pitcher, first baseman, outfield, all that mattered to him was the fact that he got to play with his friends. Mason was able to play one of his all-star games before his accident. Though they did not win Mason was not discouraged. He called his older sister, Chelsea, that night and expressed that he had did his best and was excited that he even got a hit.
The story about Mason and his life could go on and one. We hope that we can help spread the memories of Mason and touch those throughout the whole world. In his honor, go out and do something fun and take advantage of every second of everyday. Send us your pictures with your wristbands/t-shirts, doing something to honor Mason's life.
